The villa is classified as an architectural monument. During its nearly century-long history of existence, various institutions, sanatoriums and hotels functioned here. The names were also changed. Only the “Zakopane” style of the villa remained unchanged, which later evolved into a peculiar Ukrainian folk style with elements of Carpathian wooden architecture. Walking through the streets of the city of Truskavets, you can immediately notice that the specialty of this city is its wooden villas – of various architectural forms and carved decoration.


The first historical name of the building was Villa “Eden”. The villa was built by Mayer Ruderfer in 1928. During the years of its existence, the building of the “Berizka” sanatorium and the “Old Vienna” hotel were located in the premises of the villa.


In 2022, the complete reconstruction of the building was finished and “Hotel Boutique Refael” again opened its doors to guests.
